Description
Collectible original cards of photographs of Nell Pontz posing in 1900 as “The Bather” – limited quantity. Great for framing as wall art. Sold as a set showing four different poses
Around 1900, Nell Pontz, daughter of a local couple, posed for this series of photos which were added to postcards. For whatever reasons he had, Nell’s father was not pleased that his daughter would pose for these photos in her bathing costume. He bought all the cards that had been printed as well as the printing plates and stored them in his attic. The cards were later discovered by the subsequent new owners of the former Pontz house.
MGAHS has acquired a limited supply of the cards. All proceeds from their sale will benefit the MGAHS.
